Wawrzyszew station — what to know
Wawrzyszew serves the housing estates of northern Bielany and is one of three stations opened on 25 October 2008 on the final stretch of line M1. Like neighbouring Stare Bielany and Młociny it was built by cut-and-cover about 7.3 metres down, which is why the stairs from street level to the platform are so short. This is a residential station in the plainest sense: there is no tram interchange and no railway station, and the traffic comes almost entirely from people in the surrounding blocks commuting into the centre.
