These are not averages or rounded figures: the gaps come straight from the ZTM timetable and are counted from the terminus. At peak, line M1 runs every 2.5 min; late in the evening, every 9.5 min. Weekend gaps are longer — the breakdown for each direction is on every station page.

Evening and night service

Most nights the metro does not run
From Sunday to Thursday the last trains leave the termini around midnight, and last departures from intermediate stations fall anywhere from a few to several dozen minutes later — the exact time for your station is on its own page.
Friday and Saturday — the metro runs later
On Friday and Saturday nights service is extended: the last trains leave the termini around 02:18 (M1) and 02:13 (M2), with 15-minute gaps in that final phase.
After the metro closes — night buses
ZTM night buses (the N routes) take over. The biggest night hubs are Świętokrzyska and Centrum, where more than a dozen N routes call. We list the night routes at every station on its page.

Temporary restrictions

During maintenance or construction work, some lines may be replaced by bus shuttles on certain evenings, with stations temporarily closed. Check the service status on metro.waw.pl before you travel.

Events

Extra service

During major events and matches, service on the affected lines is often increased; stations can get crowded once the event ends.

Airport

By shuttle bus

Chopin Airport is not directly on the metro — take line M1 to Wilanowska station, then continue by bus or tram. Allow extra time before your flight relative to the last trains.

Night transport

Night buses

The metro doesn't run most nights; once it closes, ZTM night buses (N lines) take over with their own timetable.

  • Exact times: times vary by station — check the information displays on the platform or metro.waw.pl.
  • Last train: plan a late return in advance; the route planner shows the estimated arrival time.
  • Transfers: with a time-based ticket, transfers are free for its whole validity — one ticket covers most trips.
  • Airport: for Chopin Airport, take line M1 to Wilanowska station, then continue by surface transport.
  • Night transport: once the metro closes, use ZTM night buses (N lines).

Frequently asked questions

The first trains leave the termini of both lines at 05:00. Departures from intermediate stations are correspondingly later — from Świętokrzyska towards Kabaty, for example, the first train is at 05:17. These times come from the ZTM timetable.

From Sunday to Thursday the last trains leave the termini at about 00:09 on line M1 and 00:16 on M2. On Friday and Saturday nights service is extended, with last departures around 02:18 and 02:13. Exact times for individual stations are on their own pages.

On a weekday, gaps on line M1 range from 2.5 min at peak to 9.5 min late in the evening, and on M2 from 3 min to 9.5 min. Weekend gaps are longer. The full hour-by-hour breakdown is in the tables above.

No. The ZTM timetable is counted from the terminus, so the first and last times differ at every station by the running time — up to 39 minutes between Młociny and Kabaty on line M1. That is why we publish a separate first/last table for each of the 38 stations, in both directions, instead of one set of hours for the whole network.

No. Warsaw Public Transport publishes a GTFS-Realtime feed, but we checked it and it carries buses and trams only — not a single M1 or M2 vehicle appears in it. Everything on this page is timetable data, and we label it as such. For live disruptions, check metro.waw.pl.
