Line M2 (red) is the second line of the Warsaw Metro, opened on 8 March 2015 — the central section from Rondo Daszyńskiego to Dworzec Wileński (7 stations) was partly funded by the EU Cohesion Fund. The line was later extended in stages: eastward to Trocka in 2019 and to Bródno in 2022, and westward to Płocka in 2020 and to Bemowo in 2022. M2 connects Wola and Bemowo with Praga, Targówek and Bródno, running beneath the Vistula river.
