Which ticket is right for you?
Paper ticket, or the Warsaw City Card?
A single ticket suits occasional trips — buy it from a vending machine, by SMS or in the app, and validate it at the yellow stamping machine before you enter the metro.
The Warsaw City Card (Warszawska Karta Miejska, WKM) is a free, personalised transit card. Load it with a time-based ticket (30-day, 90-day) and ride unlimited — the best value for everyday commuters. You can also pay contactlessly with a bank card or phone (Apple Pay, Google Pay) directly at the gates.
The card itself: Warsaw City Card (Warszawska Karta Miejska) — free of charge. Check your balance and top up on the Warsaw City Card page.
Where to buy a ticket
Always validate a paper ticket at the yellow stamping machine when entering the metro; travelling without a valid ticket is fined.
