Dworzec Gdański, opened on 20 December 2003, is one of only two stations on line M1 with a direct rail connection. Warszawa Gdańska railway station, served by the SKM commuter network, lies about 200 metres from the exit. The metro platform sits roughly 11.5 metres underground and the station covers just under 6,900 square metres. Above it runs one of the largest tram junctions in the city, tying Żoliborz, Muranów and Praga together.
